Canyon Park Freeway Station/I-405The new Freeway Station opened on June 8, 2007 and is served by select Sound Transit and Community Transit express buses.
Rider Alert: Southbound ST Express Routes 532, 535 and Community Transit Route 441 will pick up and drop off passengers at the new freeway stop, located across the freeway from the existing Canyon Park Park-and-Ride lot.
Description
The Canyon Park Freeway Station/I-405 project provides a freeway station on the southbound on-ramp to I-405 from northbound SR-527 and a pedestrian bridge that connects the new freeway stop to the Canyon Park Park-and-Ride. The project improves transit speed and reliability in the I-405 corridor by eliminating the circuitous route that was required to access the park-and-ride lot. In addition to improving transit access, the project also provides accessible access and lighting to the pedestrian bridge, widens the existing on-ramp including a "special use shoulder" and converts the existing HOV bypass lane into a bus lane and loading platform.
