Lakewood StationDescription
Sound Transit is moving forward with plans to expand Sounder service to South Tacoma and Lakewood. A new commuter rail station in Lakewood was built to serve Pierce County riders traveling to Seattle.
Lakewood Station includes a side platform for passengers, as well as shelters and kiosks to purchase tickets. A new parking garage near the station provides more than 600 parking spaces for commuters. On September 21, 2008, the station began to serve as a bus transit facility for regional and local bus service. Rider information is here>>>
Sound Transit coordinated the station project with the City of Lakewood's street improvements along Pacific Highway Southwest near the station.
