Puyallup Station Parking Expansion
DescriptionIn order to relieve parking pressure and meet the current commuter demand for parking at the Puyallup Sounder commuter rail station, Sound Transit is working with the Puyallup Fair & Events Center and City of Puyallup on near-term solutions to provide additional parking capacity close to the station. The Fair’s Red Lot, located a half mile south of the station, is proposed for potential joint use by Sounder commuters and fair attendees. Pierce Transit Route 495 will connect riders to the Sounder station from the Red Lot and will be coordinated with the train schedule. Improvements to the currently unfinished parking area would include grading and paving, drainage, landscaping, replacement lighting and new sidewalks. When completed, the improved parking lot is expected to provide more than 200 parking spaces for commuters. Parking at Puyallup Station is frequently at capacity. A long-term project funded by Sound Transit 2 will explore a wide range of options to provide future parking relief. Rider information for Puyallup Station>>>
