Working with the underside of the guideway, artist Sheila Klein brings light, color, and form to the concourse of the station. The guideway is and arcade within which to place a sky, and a series of cobra head street fixtures make a galaxy of chandeliers. The sculptural chandeliers hang beneath an architectural graphic of urban camoflage painted on the underbelly of the guideway, providing light to the space. A subtle modulation of the light creates a atmosphere that is softened in contrast to the industrial street lighting outside the station.

Painted glass offer visual interest both to riders and to the surrounding Mount Baker neighborhood. "Rain, Steam and Speed" is a vibrant splash of color acting as a counterpoint to Seattles grey and blue skies. "Seattle Sunrise" on the south face of the station, recalls a joyful sunrise against the earth's horizon.
