Correction: during the closure scheduled to begin today in the southbound lanes of 110th Avenue NE, left hand turns onto NE 4th Street will be prohibited during work hours. Right hand turns onto NE 4th Street will be allowed. That change is reflected in the text and graphics below.

As early as Tuesday, Jan. 24, Sound Transit construction crews will continue installing tunnel monitoring equipment along 110th Avenue NE between Northeast 4th Street and Northeast 6th Street. Lane closures are necessary for the work to be completed.

  • Construction crews will close two southbound center lanes on 110th Avenue between NE 4th Street and NE 6th Street.
  • Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is expected to take two to three days to complete.*
  • Southbound traffic will be prevented from making left-hand turns onto NE 4th while the equipment is installed.
  • Equipment will consist of a drill rig, truck and signage and cones. Drilling and vacuuming is required as part of the equipment installation. Drilling will sound similar to a truck running with occasional hammering sounds. The vacuuming will make noise while soil material is being removed.
