Lane Closure: Banner Way NE & NE 76th St.

As early as Tuesday, December 13, 2016,  Sound Transit’s contractor will close a lane to start work on decommissioning the dewatering wells located on Banner Way NE & NE 76th Street (see map). This work will take one week to complete (weather permitting).

What to expect:

  • Traffic Impacts: Southbound left lane closure on Banner Way NE in the work area. Pedestrian, bicyclist, and motorist traffic will be maintained. Street parking may be impacted during this work. Traffic cones, No Parking signage, roadway signage, and flaggers will be used during this work.
  • Construction Activities: Decommissioning dewatering wells. The process of decommissioning the wells will take about four days. The protective well enclosure will be removed, then the wells will be grouted per Department of Ecology and the steel plate will be placed back on the road until a later date.
  • Equipment: Construction trucks and support equipment will be stationed on the street during this work.
  • Work hours: Tuesday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Restoration: Permanent restoration will be carried out to Seattle Department of Transportation standards. Current expectations for the permanent reinstatement is spring/summer 2017.
