Ride Sounder to this weekend’s football games at Qwest Field!

Special Sounder commuter rail service will offer a great way for football fans to attend this weekend’s two football events at Qwest Field. Sounder will serve the Cougar Gridiron Classic game on Saturday, September 8 and the Seahawks home opener on Sunday, September 9. The special trains will serve Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent, Tukwila, Everett and Edmonds, arriving and departing right next door to Qwest Field at King Street Station.

The game featuring WSU versus San Diego State begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 at Qwest Field. Sounder trains will arrive at King Street Station about one and a half hours before kickoff, and trains will depart King Street Station 30 minutes after the game ends.

The Seahawks home opener versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, September 9 begins at 1:15 p.m. at Qwest Field. Sounder will offer three round-trip trains in the south corridor and two round-trip trains in the north corridor for this game. The first train will arrive at King Street Station at 11:38 a.m., and the last in-bound train will arrive at 12:18 p.m. Tacoma-bound trains will depart 10, 20 and 40 minutes after the game ends, and Everett-bound trains depart 15 and 30 minutes after the games ends.

Sounder commuter rail offers a great way to avoid traffic jams and parking hassles,  On weekdays, Sound Transit offers four roundtrip commuter rail trains a day between Seattle and Tacoma with stops in Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent, Tukwila and Seattle. Beginning September 24th Sound Transit will add two more roundtrips between Tacoma and Seattle, including the introduction of a new “reverse commute” train running from Seattle to Tacoma in the morning and returning northbound in the evening.

Sound Transit also offers two roundtrip trains between Everett and Seattle with a stop in Edmonds, and will add a third train on that line September 24th.
