Sound Transit today announced that Al Lowe and Janice Bondar have joined the Sound Transit management team. Lowe is the agency's new Real Estate Manager; Bondar is the new Human Resources Manager.

Lowe brings many years of experience in the real estate and banking industries to the position. He managed real estate for the Port of Seattle Marine Division for several years, has been a real estate appraiser, and most recently operated his own consulting company. As a consultant he has provided services to Sound Transit, handling property acquisition for the Central Link light rail maintenance facility.

Bondar managed human resources for the King County Department of Natural Resources for more than five years. Prior to that she served in varying capacities with the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company for more than nine years. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

"Al and Janice bring a wealth of both public- and private-sector experience to the agency," Joni Earl, Sound Transit's Executive Director, said. "As we move forward with design and construction on our light rail, commuter rail, and capital projects, Al and Janice's skills will be an integral part of delivering quality projects to the voters of this region."

In 1996 voters approved a plan and funding for Sound Transit to provide a regional system of transit improvements, including Sounder commuter rail, ST Express regional bus service, numerous capital improvements (including park and rides, transit centers and direct access ramps) and Link light rail.
