Sounder Train Alert
Route: Sounder Tacoma-Seattle - Delay - Tukwila Station Damage
Posted: October 11 - 8:26 amThe northbound platform at Tukwila Sounder commuter rail station is closed due to damage that occurred this morning by a passing freight train. BNSF is investigating the incident. There were no passengers present and no injuries.
Sound Transit is reviewing the scope of the damage to determine the extent and duration of repairs. Until the northbound (east) platform is operational, both northbound and southbound passengers will need to use the southbound (west) platform.
We anticipate minor delays to train service while the damage is repaired. We will provide updates as more information becomes available. We appreciate riders' patience as we work to restore use of the east platform as quickly as possible.
