Home Run Sounder service debuts 2009 season line-upApril 13, 2009Mariners fans can hit traffic out of the park once again in 2009 with the return of Sounder Home Run service. Beginning this Sunday, April 19, Sounder trains will feature special service to Saturday and Sunday afternoon Mariners games throughout the season. Home Run Sounder trains serve Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent, Tukwila, Everett, Mukilteo and Edmonds, arriving and departing a short walk from Safeco Field at King Street Station. Inbound trains from the south Sound will depart Tacoma at 11 a.m. and arrive at King Street Station at noon. Inbound trains from Snohomish County will depart Everett at 11:15 a.m. and arrive at King Street Station at 12:15 p.m. Return trains will depart King Street Station 35 minutes after the game's last out. Complete schedule and fare information >>> Mariners fans also have the option of regularly scheduled Sounder commuter trains and ST Express bus routes to connect with downtown Seattle and Safeco Field. Coming in July, the opening of Link light rail between Tukwila and downtown Seattle will offer yet another fast, convenient alternative to driving and paying for parking for Mariners games and other special events in downtown Seattle. Train testing near Safeco Field is already underway, and fans are advised to be alert, use caution, and obey all traffic and pedestrian laws when crossing any train tracks in the area.
