					</url><link>http://www.soundtransit.org/</link><width>88</width><height>31</height></image><item><title>Kirkland Transit Center: Entrance to Kirkland Square from 3rd Street to close</title><description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Entrance to Kirkland Square from 3rd Street to close, new truck load/unload area to open&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;On Monday, February 8, the entrance to Kirkland Square from 3rd Street will be closed to vehicles for approximately one week and customers should continue to use the main entrance from Central Way.&amp;nbsp; During this time, the sidewalk between Park Lane and Central Way adjacent to Kirkland Square will remain open to pedestrians for the majority of the week and flaggers will assist pedestrians past the driveway while the work is being performed.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;Also on Monday, a new truck load/unload area will open on Central Way west of the intersection at 3rd Street and adjacent to the Subway/Market on Central.&amp;nbsp; The truck load/unload area is being provided to assist businesses with deliveries during construction.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; This may also help keep the Central Way entrance to Kirkland Square clear by providing a new loading area and discouraging the use of the center turn lane by trucks that often block left turn access.&amp;nbsp; Kirkland Square tenants and other nearby businesses are asked to direct their deliveries to this new area.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;While difficult at times, the Sound Transit construction team has done their best to maintain pedestrian and vehicular access through and around the active construction site when possible and for as long as possible to minimize construction impacts.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Please support local businesses near the Kirkland Transit Center site during construction. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; For more information about the project visit the &lt;a href="x1309.xml"&gt;project page&lt;/a&gt; or contact Roger Iwata at &lt;a href="mailto:roger.iwata@soundtransit.org"&gt;roger.iwata@soundtransit.org&lt;/a&gt; or 206-689-4904. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description><link>http://www.soundtransit.org/x843.xml</link><creator>Sound Transit</creator><pubDate>Fri Feb 5 08:49:13 PST 2010</pubDate></item><item><title>University Link Project Update - January</title><description>&lt;p&gt;Highlights of this issue include: Major Construction Activities Begin on University Link, I-5 Undercrossing Update, Capitol Hill Business Mitigation, Capitol Hill Station: Recapping the Construction Kick-off Meeting, Capitol Hill Art: Call to Artists, and Capitol Hill Station: Transit Oriented Development Community Forum&lt;/p&gt;</description><link>http://www.soundtransit.org/x843.xml</link><creator>Sound Transit</creator><pubDate>Fri Jan 29 16:57:13 PST 2010</pubDate></item><item><title>UW Station Construction Alert</title><description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;div&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;The street lights on Montlake Boulevard from the Montlake Bridge to Pacific Street have been malfunctioning. Seattle City Light (SCL) has determined the outages are not related to the Sound Transit UW light rail station construction and are working on correcting the outage.&amp;nbsp; If you have any questions regarding the outage please contact SCL at (206) 684-7056 or via email at &lt;a href="mailto:street.light@seattle.gov"&gt;street.light@seattle.gov&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You can also report them electronically at Streetlight Trouble Report Form.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;Seattle City Light will need the following information:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li value="0"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;The light pole number and the street name the light is directed over. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li value="0"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;The address nearest the pole is also needed to assist in locating the correct pole. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li value="0"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;What is the nature of the problem? (Examples: Pole down, light burned out, light on in daylight, light goes on then off, glare, etc.) &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt;SCL asks for your name and phone number in case they have questions and need to follow up with you. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;/div&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description><link>http://www.soundtransit.org/x843.xml</link><creator>Sound Transit</creator><pubDate>Tue Jan 26 15:03:13 PST 2010</pubDate></item><item><title>M Street to Lakewood Track and Signal Project</title><description>&lt;span style="font-family: Verdana;"&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;S. 56th Street scheduled for weekend closures&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Beginning on the evening of Friday, January 22 and again on the evening of Friday, January 29, the street crossing at S. 56th Street is scheduled to be fully closed to traffic as the crossing is demolished and reconstructed over the weekend.&amp;nbsp; The work will be performed in stages so the crossing can reopen to traffic by the following Monday morning on both weekends. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This week track reconstruction was completed and a rail turnout was installed in the area between Atlas-Bradken and the Highway 16 overpass. &amp;nbsp;Next week a section of track north of S. 56th Street will be demolished and reconstructed.&amp;nbsp; The work is not expected to disrupt Tacoma Rail service to their customers.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;By the end of next week, all track construction between S. Chandler Street and the S. 66th Street overpass will be completed.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Excavation work between Steilacoom Blvd. SW and 108th Street continues and site preparation work begins with clearing and grubbing between S. 66th Street and Steilacoom Blvd. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Signals are being installed at S.
