Safety Alert - Railroad Tracks are no Place for Pedestrians

Safety bulletin: In the past several weeks, two fatalities have occurred on BNSF Railway Co. tracks in south King County. Both deaths involved pedestrians reportedly crossing the tracks in undesignated areas while talking on cell phones. Freight and passenger trains, including Sounder, are much quieter than most people realize. You may not hear a train coming. Please review the update and stay safe & sound.

Beacon Hill Construction Update - Public Meeting

Kirkland Transit Center Enhancement Project -- Environmental Documentation Complete

Sound Transit has completed the environmental review and documentation process under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) for the Kirkland Transit Center project. A SEPA Checklist and SEPA Addendum were prepared and a detailed noise study was conducted. Sound Transit issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) under SEPA on May 12, 2008. Rainier Valley Construction Update

Starting as early as Monday, May 19th for approximately three weeks -- S. Walden Street will be closed 24-hours a day to eastbound and westbound traffic to allow RCI-Herzog to replace concrete and install trackway.
