Everett Station - Public Art

Hand Werke - Verena Schwippert (2002)

The Everett Station is located east of downtown Everett, and south of Pacific Avenue. The 64,000 square foot Everett Station serves as both a transportation hub and a civic and educational center.

Artist Verena Schwippert says of her work that is to be installed at the Everett Station “There is for me, as for most of us it seems, a tangible presence in the giant stones – a quiet, peaceful, yet very great power.” The assemblage Hand Werke is the result of an emergence of sculptures from boulder shapes that are particularly symmetrical, yet naturally formed. The theme of hands was primarily selected as a symbol for the manufacturing history of Everett.

These sculptures will be installed as part of the Phase II construction at Everett Station.
