Link Light Rail Grand Opening Ceremony
July 2009 -- Central Link light rail service began on July 18, 2009. The 14-mile line runs from Downtown Seattle to Tukwila with ten stops in between. Service kicked off with an inaugural ribbon cutting at Mt. Baker Station in Seattle's Rainier Valley neighborhood before trains departed for downtown Seattle to the north and Tukwila to the south.
