• ORCA makes Big Splash on regional transit scene
  September, 2009 -- ORCA card distribution kicks into high gear across four counties as agencies move from paper transfers to electronic transfers on ORCA cards beginning January 1, 2010.

• SR 522 Dedication
  August, 2009 -- Officials celebrate improvements to this transit corridor, including new transit lanes and environmental improvements.

• Link Light Rail Grand Opening Ceremony
  July, 2009 -- Central Link light rail service began on July 18, 2009. The 14-mile line runs from Downtown Seattle to Tukwila with ten stops in between. Service kicked off with an inaugural ribbon cutting at Mt. Baker Station in Seattle's Rainier Valley neighborhood before trains departed for downtown Seattle to the north and Tukwila to the south. • I-90 HOV Lanes
  February, 2009 -- ST, WSDOT complete first of three phases to add I-90 HOV lanes. The I-90 projects will add safe, all-day, high-occupancy lanes on I-90 between Bellevue and Seattle while preserving the number of general purpose lanes for solo drivers.

• Airport Station Bridge - Time lapse
  February, 2009 -- Sound Transit contractors lift the new pedestrian bridge connecting the Sea Tac kiss-and-ride with the new Sea Tac/Airport Station. Light rail to the airport opens in December.
