Totem Lake Community Celebration

April 26 , 2008
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Speaking program at 12 p.m.
Kingsgate Park-and-Ride lot
13001 116th Way N.E., Kirkland

You're invited to a special event on Saturday, April 26 celebrating the new Totem Lake freeway station, overpass, and access ramps at NE 128th Street. We want to thank the city of Kirkland and the Totem Lake community for their patience during construction.

To say “thank you” we’re hosting a Community Celebration with entertainment, food samples from local establishments and family fun. This will also be a great opportunity to learn about transportation improvements and other projects underway in your community!

  • Free food and beverages from several area businesses
  • Entertainment, fun, and games for the whole family
  • Talk with city officials and learn about the future Totem Lake Transit Center at Evergreen Healthcare, plans for the downtown Kirkland Transit Center, and the additional WSDOT I-405 projects currently underway.
  • Enjoy free shoe shines and shoe consultations courtesy of Totem Lake Shoe Repair.
  • Talk to representatives from Aegis Lodge, part of the Aegis Living network -- a leader in the senior living industry.
  • Meet project artists Christine Bourdette and Vicki Scuri, who created the art featured along the new walkway on 116th Ave NE and on the sides of the new access ramps.  More about the art>>>

About the project

The completed Totem Lake Freeway Station project provides improved facilities for local and regional transit riders. With this new project, bus riders save up to five minutes of travel time, and drivers along Interstate 405 save time too.

  • The project added high-occupancy ramps that connect to the HOV lanes on I-405.

  • A new freeway station provides covered walkways, lighting, landscaping and public art.

  • The new crossing at NE 128th Street adds capacity across I-405, connecting communities in the Totem Lake area.

A special thank you to the following Kirkland businesses:

76 Station ·  Aegis Living · A Loja Brasileira · ARCO Station ·  Bonafide Lock & Safe · Burger King · Country Trace Condos · Frontier Bank · Hunan Wok · Izumi · Matt’s Gourmet Hot Dogs · McDonald’s · Mmm…Javalicious…Mmm · Northwest Vacuum & Sewing · State Farm Insurance · Taco Del Mar · Taco Time · Thumra Thai Restaurant · Totem Lake Dental · Totem Lake Medical Plaza · Totem Lake Shoe Repair · Warren Jewelers
