Design for a new Kirkland Transit Center on Third Street between Central Way and Kirkland Avenue is now underway. The new center will replace the current twenty-two year old facility. Please join Sound Transit at an informational open house to learn about the project and view the most recent design plans. Project staff will be available to answer questions and listen to your comments about the project.

The Kirkland Transit Center project will improve speed and reliability of bus service, as well as provide our customers with new waiting areas, enhanced pedestrian crossings, and bicycle amenities. New signal, intersection, and traffic circulation improvements will smooth traffic flows around the transit center and enhance pedestrian safety for our customers and neighborhood residents. Sound Transit is coordinating the transit project with the new library expansion and King County’s sewer pump station and pipeline upgrade projects nearby. Get an update on these projects and see the latest designs. King County staff will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
