Community Oversight Panel
The Community Oversight Panel independently monitors Sound Transit to make sure it meets its commitment to voters.

How to apply

The Sound Transit Board of Directors is seeking interested volunteers to join the Community Oversight Panel (COP). There are currently four positions available: one position is available for the Snohomish County subarea, two positions are available for the Pierce County subarea, and one position available for the East King County subarea.

Sound Transit actively seeks persons from diverse backgrounds and professional areas of expertise to support agency oversight, planning and operations. Persons of color and women are encouraged to apply. 

Candidates should be available to attend meetings once each month during evening from 5:30 – 8:15 p.m. and must have experience, skills, or insight in one or more areas related to the panel's responsibilities:

  • Community engagement activities
  • Project planning and alignment decisions
  • Budget and financial plan
  • Project schedule and budget adherence
  • Agency performance audits
  • Social justice and equity
  • Passenger experience

There are currently four positions available: one position is available for the Snohomish County subarea, two positions are available for the Pierce County subarea and one position is available for the East King County subarea.
