Sound Transit, in partnership with the Puget Sound Regional Council, is hosting its third annual bicycle community forum on Monday, June 4 from
6 - 8:30 p.m. at Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), 222 Yale Ave. N. in Seattle.

The forum is an opportunity to see a number of improved transit options for bicyclists in the Puget Sound area. Cyclists will be able to:

    • Learn about the four-county bicycle and pedestrian system included in 2030, the regional transportation plan.
    • Find out about ST Express bus, Sounder commuter rail, and Link light rail facilities and access improvements for bicyclists.
    • Hear from the Sound Transit Bicycle Leaders Team of local advocates and learn how the group provided input on Sounder, ST Express and Link light rail bicycle considerations.
    • Share ideas for encouraging bicycle connections with transit.

"I encourage everyone to come and hear the great progress that has been made between Sound Transit and the bicycling community," said Barbara Culp, executive director of the Bicycle Alliance of Washington. "The two are such natural partners and we need to continue to work together to provide increased access."

The event includes an open house from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by remarks from King County Executive Ron Sims at 7:00 p.m.

For more information on this event call (206) 398-5000 or toll-free 1-800-201-4900.
