Bus service on Southbound I-5 delayed by major accident in Federal Way

Sound Transit's Regional Express bus service southbound from the Seattle area is experiencing delays due to an accident involving more than 25 vehicles that closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Federal Way.

While buses traveling south from the Seattle area are departing on schedule, they are encountering major delays as they detour around the closure.

Sound Transit's Sounder commuter rail service is running on schedule and provides an alternative to bus service. Southbound trains depart from Seattle's King Street Station at 4:55 p.m., 5:10 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. with stops in Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Sumner, Puyallup and Tacoma.
