Body

The first in a series of public forums has been scheduled to help the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority develop clear and responsive policies regarding inclusion of certified minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprises (M/W/DBE) in its contracting. The first forum will focus on architectural and engineering bid procedures and contracts and is being held:

Thursday, February 27, 1997
7- 9 p.m.
Bellevue City Hall, Council Conference Room
11511 Main Street, Bellevue

Additional public forums on M/W/DBE policies for construction and other contract service areas will be announced by the RTA in coming months. Architectural and engineering contracting procedures are the focus of the first forum because those services will be among the first needed by the RTA as it implements Sound Move, the 10-year regional rapid transit plan approved by Puget Sound area voters last November.

The forum will include a presentation on the RTA's draft implementation program and schedule for Sound Move, and of the RTA's process and board-adopted guiding principles for developing and implementing effective M/W/DBE strategies, followed by open public discussion.

Invitations have been extended to interested firms. and representative groups to attend, but the meeting is open to all who are interested. Individuals and businesses wishing to be notified of upcoming M/W/DBE activities should contact the RTA:
