Open house on transportation connection projects for south Everett

Body

Jointly sponsored by Sound Transit, the City of Everett, Everett Transit, Community Transit and the Washington state department of transportation, the open house will focus on the South Everett Project, comprising three separate but linked projects near the I-5 freeway and 112th St. SE in the Silver Lake area. The South Everett Project includes a new park-and-ride lot, a bus stop adjacent to I-5 known as a "flyer stop" and high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) direct access freeway ramps.

The South Everett Project is just one of the numerous improvements Sound Transit's Regional Express department is bringing to transit centers, park-and-ride lots and high-occupancy vehicle lanes throughout the region. Regional Express is also responsible for the ST Express bus system, a strategic web of 18 routes providing two-way all-day bus service connecting the major urban centers of Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma and Seattle with numerous cities and communities in Central Puget Sound.

Along with ST Express, Sound Transit is building Sounder commuter rail running 82 miles between Everett and Tacoma/Lakewood and Link light rail, a 21-mile system connecting the cities of SeaTac, Tukwila and Seattle and a 1.6-mile system in Tacoma.
