Open houses scheduled for the public to review and respond to the latest information on Link light rail project

Publish Date
Body

Two public open houses have been scheduled by Sound Transit to provide people with an opportunity to review the latest information, ask questions and register their comments on Sound Transit's central Link light rail project. While the project remains affordable without raising taxes, it has been determined that the cost to complete central Link is higher than originally estimated and it will take longer to build. In January the Sound Transit Board will consider approving a higher project budget and a longer schedule. Details about the project status, and opportunities to present your comments will be available at the open houses:

Monday January 8, and Tuesday January 9
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
(Overview and public comment sessions at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.)
Great Hall at Union Station
401 S. Jackson St.
Seattle

Overview presentations and comment periods will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. each evening. Comment cards and a court reporter will be available for those wishing to share their views at any time throughout the events. For more information about Sound Transit's Link light rail, Sounder commuter rail or ST Express bus service and projects call 1-800-201-4900 at any time to leave a recorded message, or visit the Sound Transit Web site at www.soundtransit.org/
