Public invited to share views on potential University District-Northgate light rail routes and stations

A public workshop will be held by Sound Transit to present information and to hear community ideas and questions regarding future Link light rail route and station location options between Northgate and the University District.

The Sound Transit Board has committed to finding the funding to complete this segment of the Link system, and is proceeding with planning and preliminary design work. The Sound Transit Board is planning to identify a final route and stations in July, and the public's comments and ideas from this workshop will be important to their decision. The session will begin with a short open house, followed by a brief presentation and the opportunity for those attending to break into work groups to discuss specifics of the various options with their neighbors.

Approved by voters in 1996, Sound Transit is implementing a 10-year regional transit plan that includes the Central Link light rail system between Seattle and SeaTac, a 1.6-mile Tacoma Link light rail line, Sounder commuter rail serving communities between Everett and Lakewood, and limited-stop ST Express bus services throughout the region.
