Sound Transit - the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority - along with City of Puyallup, Pierce Transit and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) invites the public to an open house on the new South Hill Park-and Ride lot. Projected to provide new, convenient access to bus service from Sound Transit's ST Express and Pierce Transit by the end of 2000, the South Hill Park-and-Ride lot will hold about 320 cars and it is located in the northwest section of the State Route 512 and 94th St. interchange.

Wednesday, June 23, 1999
Open house: 6 to 8 p.m.

Holiday Inn Express Library Room
812 South Hill Park Dr., Puyallup

People will be able to see the latest ideas for the South Hill Park-and Ride lot and meet with staff from Sound Transit, Pierce Transit and WSDOT to share ideas and help ensure that the Park-and Ride lot meets their needs.

The South Hill Park-and Ride lot is just one of numerous improvements Sound Transit's Regional Express department is bringing to transit centers, park-and-ride lots and high-occupancy vehicle ramps throughout the region. Regional Express is also introducing the ST Express bus system, a strategic web of at least 17 routes providing two-way all-day bus service connecting the major urban centers of Bellevue, Everett, Tacoma and Seattle with numerous cities and communities in Central Puget Sound. Two bus routes between Bellevue and Seattle and Tacoma and Seattle are already in service partially funded by Sound Transit and these two routes plus seven others will begin ST Express service in September.

Along with ST Express, Sound Transit is building Sounder commuter rail running 82 miles between Everett and Tacoma/Lakewood and Link light rail, a 21-mile system connecting the cities of SeaTac, Tukwila and Seattle and a 1.6-mile system in Tacoma.
