(NOTE TO EDITORS: WHILE, AT FIRST GLANCE, THIS MIGHT APPEAR TO BE A MINOR NEWS ITEM, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT IN SOUTH SNOHOMISH COUNTY WHERE COMMUTERS HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THEIR ROUTINES BECAUSE OF LIMITED SPACE AT THE LYNNWOOD PARK-AND-RIDE)

Beginning Monday February 16 it will be easier for South Snohomish County commuters to find parking and ride the bus. Sound Transit is adding 190 parking spots at the filled-to-capacity Lynnwood Park-and-Ride lot on Monday and another 25 on Friday February 20.

Commuters have been eagerly awaiting the new parking at this popular transit hub, one of the busiest in the region. Before the Lynnwood Transit Center was renovated there were approximately 900 parking slots. The new parking slots will bring the total to 1,326. Another 78 parking slots will be available when the Direct Access Ramp from I-5 is completed by the end of this year.
