Sound Transit Boardmembers will join Executive Director Joni Earl on Thursday September 26th to announce the completion of the ST Express regional bus system and the official start date for a third round-trip Sounder commuter rail train between Tacoma and Seattle. Both announcements signal the achievement of two key milestones laid out for the agency earlier this year by Board Chair/King County Executive Ron Sims.

Boardmembers participating will include Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg, Tacoma City Councilmember Kevin Phelps and Kenmore Deputy Mayor Jack Crawford.

The Boardmembers will present a proclamation to the Regional Express staff and Sound Transit's partner agencies (King County Metro, Pierce Transit and Community Transit) for their achievement of completing the express bus system outlined in Sound Move, the Regional Transit System Plan. A banner advertising the Sounder third train also will be unveiled.
