NOTE TO EDITORS: WE URGE YOU TO COVER THE CELEBRATION SUNDAY MORNING OF OUR INAUGURAL SERVICE IN EVERETT. SEE DETAILS BELOW. WE ALSO ASK THAT YOU PLEASE GIVE ADVANCE COVERAGE OF THE CELEBRATION - AND A LISTING IN YOUR WEEKEND CALENDARS - TO LET PEOPLE KNOW THE EVENT IS TAKING PLACE. THANK YOU.

Seattle Mariners fans now have a transit double-header for Sunday home games with a 1:05 p.m. start time - special Sounder "Home Run Service" originating from both Everett and Tacoma. The service begins this Sunday, April 18th. In Everett, where fans will be treated to the Home Run Service for the first time this Sunday, Sound Transit and the Mariners are sponsoring a celebration aptly titled "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."

"Our Sounder Home Run Service has become an important hassle-free option over the past three years for Mariners fans between Tacoma and Seattle," said Sound Transit Board Chair/Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg. "Now, fans in Snohomish County will be able to avoid the Safeco Field traffic and the cost of parking by taking Sounder from Everett or Edmonds."

"We're pleased to partner again with Sound Transit on the Sounder Sunday service.  We know that a lot of our fans travel to the ballpark from outside the Seattle area and this service helps make their trip to and from the ballpark that much easier," said Howard Lincoln, Mariners Chairman and CEO.

Sounder's Home Run Service train will depart from Tacoma at 11 a.m. and make stops at Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent and Tukwila on the way to a noon arrival at Seattle's King Street Station. In the north corridor, the Home Run Service train will depart from Everett Station at 11:15 a.m. with a stop at Edmonds Station before arriving at King Street Station at 12:14 p.m. For the return trip, both trains will depart King Street Station 30 minutes after the end of the ball game.

Take Me out to the Ballgame

In Everett the Celebration starts between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. with ballpark refreshments, Webbly the Aqua Sox frog and a chance to win Mariners tickets and a free ride onboard Sounder for future Sunday afternoon home games.
