U.S. Senator Patty Murray will join local officials Wednesday December 11 for the groundbreaking of Sound Transit's permanent Tacoma Dome Sounder Station at Freighthouse Square.

Tacoma Dome Station is one of the most important facilities in the entire Sound Transit network. It is the first location in the agency's system where passengers will be able to find all three Sound Transit services: Sounder Commuter Rail, Tacoma Link Light Rail (beginning Service September 2003), and ST Express Regional Bus. Local Pierce Transit bus service, Greyhound and Amtrak are also accessible, making Tacoma Dome Station a true multi-modal facility.

Sound Transit Vice Chair/Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg will act as Master of Ceremonies. Speakers include Senator Murray, Sound Transit Boardmember/Tacoma City Councilman Kevin Phelps and Julie Anderson, Manager of the Tacoma Dome Business District Office.
