Sound Transit's Sounder Commuter Rail Holiday Schedule, including "Holiday Special" Morning and Afternoon Trains

Sound Transit's popular Sounder commuter rail service will run on a holiday schedule this Thanksgiving weekend and again over the Christmas and New Year's weekends.

There will be no Sounder service on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day. There will be a holiday schedule the day after Thanksgiving - Friday, November 29. On that day, the morning northbound trains will leave Tacoma at 6:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. There also will be a "Holiday Special" leaving Tacoma at 10:45 a.m. All trains will make their regular stops at Sounder stations.

Southbound trains on Friday November 29 will leave Seattle's King Street Station beginning with the "Holiday Special" at 1:55 p.m., 4:55 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. making all stops at Sounder stations. There will be no 6:30 a.m. northbound trip departing Tacoma or 5:10 p.m. southbound trip departing Seattle.

  • Friday December 27
  • Monday December 30
  • Tuesday December 31
  • Thursday January 2
  • Friday January 3

In 1996 voters approved funding for Sound Transit to provide a regional system of transit improvements, including Sounder commuter rail, ST Express regional bus service, numerous capital improvements (including park-and-ride lots, transit centers and direct access ramps) and Link light rail.
