1:30 p.m. Federal Way start of construction celebration

Sound Transit and its partners have started two projects to improve transportation in South King County. Construction has begun on the Federal Way Transit Center at 23rd Avenue South and South 317th Street. Sound Transit and the state Department of Transportation are also building a new high-occupancy vehicle direct access ramp at Interstate 5 and South 317th Street. These projects will create an important new transit hub in South King County, connecting Federal Way to other urban centers throughout the region with fast and efficient transportation.
