Sound Transit to host public meeting about construction of East Link central Bellevue section

Public invited to meet Sound Transit’s contractor and learn about light rail construction activities

Sound Transit will hold an open house next week in Bellevue about the segment of the East Link extension that runs 1.9 miles between the future East Main, Bellevue Downtown, Wilburton and Spring District/120th stations. East Link is scheduled to open in 2023. 

• Tuesday, June 6, from 5-7 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, Main Concourse, Bellevue

While construction of the downtown Bellevue tunnel continues, Sound Transit will begin building the above-ground sections of the light rail alignment in the “central Bellevue” area this spring. 

Members of the public are invited to learn about early construction work, including utility relocation and demolition; maintenance of traffic from downtown Bellevue to the Spring District; construction schedule and work phasing; and how to stay informed during construction. Sound Transit project staff and representatives from Sound Transit’s contractor, Stacy and Witbeck/Atkinson, will be available to answer questions.
