Upcoming I-90 ramp closures

Daily off-peak closures have been extended for both the Island Crest Way Eastbound HOV off-ramp and the Island Crest Way Westbound HOV on-ramp.

The Island Crest Way Eastbound HOV off-ramp will close daily March 12 – March 27, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This closure is necessary to continue construction on the station's south sound wall. Drivers will be able to use the West Mercer Way and 77th Avenue eastbound off-ramps.

The Island Crest Way Westbound HOV on-ramp will continue to close daily, during off-peak hours through the end of March. Work continues on the northern sound walls. Drivers can use the West Mercer Way and 76th Avenue Southeast westbound on-ramps during this closure.

Extended closure hours for March 19 and 20

On Monday Mar. 19 and Tuesday March 20, the Island Crest Way Westbound HOV on-ramp closure will be extended from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. During this time, crews will pour a new concrete barrier on the north side of the station. A technique called “slip forming” where concrete is poured continuously into a moving form, will be used and the extended hours are needed to allow the concrete to set properly. Slip forming creates continuous, non-interrupted, durable concrete barriers and allows crews to install long segments of barrier in a short amount of time.

Off-peak (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) closures will resume at 9 a.m. on Wednesday March 21. Drivers can use the West Mercer Way and 76th Avenue Southeast westbound on-ramps during this closure.
