Take a shot to win a trip behind the U District Station construction wall by Bruce Gray May 17, 2018

As most people know, light rail is coming further into the U District with a new station right off The Ave next to UW tower.

As part of our work to be good neighbors during construction, we’re giving you a shot to see what’s behind the construction walls on Brooklyn Avenue. It’s an amazing site with a constant hum of workers rigging steel rebar cages, pouring concrete and loading rails into the tunnels as the 80-foot deep station comes together.

Check out some photo highlights from our recent visit to the construction site.

And here’s how you can enter to win a personal tour to see that work up close and personal.

Take a photo of yourself inside or in front of a participating U District businesses and post to your Instagram channel with the tags #TakeTagWin and #SoundTransit. If you're shy, you can also just post a picture of the participating business.

Be sure we can make out the business name in your picture.

That’s it! Each photo counts as one entry; enter as many times as you like.

Here are the participating shops that we're working with as part of our ongoing program to help support businesses next to our construction sites:

The contest ends June 18 and we’ll select seven lucky winners who will be allowed to bring one friend inside the site later this summer.

Enter now to put yourself in this spot!

All winners must be at least 18 years old and able to navigate stairs and other obstacles in a construction site.

Don’t worry, we won’t put you to work. But you should be able to walk multiple flights of stairs at a minimum.
