Citizens' Accessibility Advisory Committee (CAAC)

About the CAAC

The Citizens Accessibility Advisory Committee was chartered in 1999 by Sound Transit and advises the transit agency on regional mobility and accessibility issues as they relate to the implementation of Sound Transit's Regional Transportation Plan.

The role of the committee is to:

  • Identify factors inhibiting regional mobility
  • Prioritize issues and work to enhance transportation services for individuals who are disabled or elderly
  • Review and advise Sound Transit on service, signage, equipment, vehicle and facility design

The work of the committee does not replace other Sound Transit outreach or public involvement efforts. Sound Transit staff will include the committee's input in its decision-making process. Final decisions will reside with the Sound Transit Board and staff.

Sound Transit is in the process of restructuring the Citizens Accessibility Advisory Committee. Currently there are vacancies for representatives.
