Public invited to hear results of community engagement process to help inform future land development next to Roosevelt Station

Sound Transit will hold an open house on Thursday, March 9 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Roosevelt High School Commons, 1410 NE 66th Street, on results from the community engagement process that will help inform future land development opportunities next to the Roosevelt Station.

At the meeting Sound Transit, in partnership with the City of Seattle and the Roosevelt Neighborhood Association, will discuss opportunities for transit-oriented development on future surplus land next to the station following feedback received so far from the public. Transit-oriented development typically includes a mix of housing, retail, office and other uses designed to support walkable communities near transit facilities.

Members of the public are invited to learn about the results of the community engagement process conducted to date, provide additional feedback and hear about next steps in Sound Transit's process to find a development partner for the surplus land.

Roosevelt Station is one of three stations that will serve the Northgate Link light rail extension opening in 2021. The station is located along the west side of 12th Avenue NE between NE 65th and NE 67th streets and will include plazas with seating, public art and bike parking. Riders will board trains underground through entrances at NE 65th Street and NE 67th Street.

Riders at Roosevelt Station will enjoy two-minute rides to the U District, four-minute rides to Northgate Mall and Husky Stadium, 10-minute rides to downtown Seattle and 44-minute rides to Sea-Tac Airport.
