Ticket vending machine problems

Sound Transit has a "no refund, no replacement" policy on Link and Sounder tickets.

Occasionally a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) breaks down and does not issue a valid ticket, receipt or change. You may report the issue online, or print and mail our form.

To report the issue using our mail-in form:

  • Print and fill out the  TVM Malfunction Resolution Form (.pdf, 13 KB)
  • Include any supporting documents [such as ticket(s) or receipt(s)] 
  • Make copies of the form and any supporting documents for your records
  • Mail your form and documents to the address shown on the form 

Normal processing time is 20-30 days. If you don't see a refund from us after 30 days, please email us at main@soundtransit.org or call Customer Service at 888-889-6368.
