Beginning March 11, work will take place in the plaza above the International District/ Chinatown Station to clean and install bird mitigation on structures and signage. Work is scheduled to last about 5 weeks, until April 12 and the work will be completed throughout the plaza level. During 1 Line service hours, station entrances, exits, and elevators will not be impacted. Walkways through the plaza will be temporarily constrained by the work areas, however passenger impact will be minimal.

On Monday, Feb. 19, Sound Transit's contractor will close approximately 190 parking stalls at Sumner Station, to make room for garage construction. We expect the closure to last about two years. At least 110 stalls will always be available, including the 68 stalls in the lot north of Maple Street.
The work will be done in phases. During Phase 1, which may last several months, approximately 40 stalls will remain open in the station’s southwest triangle lot. This includes ADA stalls, motorcycle stalls and pick-up and drop-off stalls will be in this area. (There are also pick-up and drop-off spaces on Traffic Avenue.) During Phase 1, Narrow Street will be closed to through traffic at Maple Ave, and Academy Street will be closed to through traffic at Cherry Street.
We recommend passengers make alternate plans for getting to a Sounder station as detailed in earlier alerts, including driving to Puyallup Station, Bonney Lake Park-and-Ride Lot, walking or bicycling, or applying for a carpool permit. One new option for east Sumner residents to get to the station is the City's Commuter Connector residential loop shuttle that travels between East Sumner and the station.

In June of 2022, Sound Transit closed the fifth and sixth floors of the Auburn garage because inspections showed the need for concrete deck repairs on the upper floor.
Due to safety concerns, bicycles are restricted on certain Sounder cars until further notice.
Only four bicycles are allowed per train car. Cyclists may only enter Sounder trains through doors with a bicycle symbol. Always follow any directions from the conductor.
Each Sounder train car has two tie-down spaces for cyclists to secure their bicycles. If the tie-down spaces are occupied, two additional cyclists may stand with their bikes. When standing with your bicycle, stand by the doors near the tie-down area. Restrain your bike with one hand and hold on to a secure pole with the other. Do not lean, or secure, your bicycle to other secured bicycles. Remember, you may need to move your bicycle, so other riders can move about the train.
