Art projects
STart, the Sound Transit art program, enhances transit connections by helping create a sense of place in the communities where it builds and operates.
Sound Transit sets aside construction dollars for art because it keeps our temporary construction sites attractive and makes our stations feel inviting, safe and memorable.
There aren't any current openings. If you're an artist and would like to know about future art opportunities, subscribe.
Interested in creating art for Sound Transit?
STart will post opportunities for artists on the website when they are available. Commissions vary and are suited for all types of experience levels, including:
- Gateway/landmarking projects
- Discrete works
- Integrated art
- Temporary art
- Performance opportunities
- Environmental/green works
- Others we haven't dreamed up yet
If you subscribe, you'll receive email notification of call-to-artists. If it seems like a good fit, please apply for the commission. Good luck!
