The Everett Link Extension project team held an Environmental Impact Statement scoping period from Jan. 23 to March 10. We shared the results of additional technical analysis and asked for feedback on the alternatives and other topics to study in the Draft EIS. Our outreach resulted in:
- Over 1,200 comments from members of the public, Tribes, and agencies.
- 10,827 visitors to our online open house, which was available in four languages.

Attendance of 1,600 people at the in-person public meeting and 127 people at the two virtual meetings.

The Community Advisory Group met on March 29 to develop recommendations for the Elected Leadership Group on which alternatives should be studied in the Draft EIS.
The CAG discussed the advantages and disadvantages of alternatives, made recommendations, and also noted a preferred alternative in some areas.
The Everett Link project is still very early in the design process, and there will be many changes and refinements before the design is final. We are exploring design opportunities as a result of public feedback, coordination with partner agencies, and potential issues that we have discovered through our work.
Your input at this stage in the project can and does affect the project design. Design on all alignments, station layouts, and Operations and Maintenance Facility North options will continue during the Draft EIS and until about 2029, when it is anticipated that the design work will be final.
We are almost at the end of the Alternatives Development phase of the project. The next steps of the Sound Transit decision-making process include several upcoming meetings. In the meetings, we’ll identify the alternatives that will be studied in the Draft EIS, which may include a preferred alternative. The meetings are open to the public, and you can provide public comment at the Board meetings.
Work on the EIS is expected to begin later this summer and continue for the next several years.
