Local officials to greet commuters and celebrate new ST Express Route 522

Local elected officials will join Sound Transit Boardmember/Kenmore City Councilman Jack Crawford at the Kenmore Park-and-Ride Lot on Monday morning September 30th to greet commuters as they board Sound Transit's new ST Express Route 522. Sound Transit Executive Director Joni Earl and Regional Express Director Agnes Govern also will join the festivities.

Commuters will be treated to free copies of the morning newspapers and coffee as they board the bus on the first business day of the new route.

Route 522 will travel the SR 522 corridor serving the communities of Woodinville, Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park and Lake City, ending in downtown Seattle. It is one of the two final ST Express routes that complete the regional express bus system promised in the 1996 Sound Move vote. The other final piece of the ST Express system is demonstration Route 586 connecting Downtown Tacoma with Seattle's University District.
