reel icon 🚅 Sometimes the best way to address graffiti is by embracing it! 🎨   Sound Transit’s STart program has turned the wall just outside the west entrance of Capitol Hill Station into a rotating showcase for local graffiti artists. 🔁🖼️   Up now: Seattle-based artist @merlotism Marry Merlot✨ With nearly 20 years of experience, she blends traditional graffiti with inspiration from her Vietnamese heritage and a clean, graphic sensibility shaped by her background in graphic design. But this wall switches up soon - a new artist is rotating in at the end of the month so don’t miss your chance to catch the piece before it’s gone!   📍 Capitol Hill Station - E Denny Way & Broadway Video description: Opens with Lucile Chich, STart Program Manager, standing in front of graffiti art installed at the west entrance of Capitol Hill Station. She speaks directly to the camera, explaining the rotating graffiti wall project and introducing the featured artist, Marry Merlot. The scene then cuts to behind-the-scenes footage of the art in being installed and. Next, Marry stands in front of the installed art, speaking about how she got into graffiti and her process. As she talks, B-roll shows her actively spray painting, layering colors and details. The video ends with a candid moment: Marry stands smiling in front of the finished piece.
