Dedication ceremony to mark new service at Tacoma Link Commerce Street Station on Sept 29

Downtown on the Go and Sound Transit will hold a dedication ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Tacoma Link Commerce Street Station to celebrate the inception of passenger service at the new stop.

Tacoma Link service to the new station, located at Commerce and South 11th streets, began on Sept. 15. The station includes two 40-foot platforms, platform lighting, accessibility ramps, security cameras, and passenger shelters that incorporate etched glass artwork by Tacoma artist Chandler O'Leary.

Mayor Marilyn Strickland, Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber President & CEO Tom Pierson, and Sound Transit Board and Tacoma City Councilmember Jay Fey will speak at the event.
