Online Open House for South Tacoma Station Access Improvements project launches

An online open house is now available to learn more about planned improvements around the South Tacoma Sounder station to increase accessibility to and from trains and around the area.

The online open house provides information on proposed improvements (subject to refinement or change) and asks for public feedback on improvements to prioritize.

Go to the open house website to learn more about the proposed improvements, including:

  • Improved connections on South Adams Street to South Tacoma Station and Metro Parks Tacoma’s SERA campus
  • Protected bike lanes on South Pine Street from Center Street to South 47th Street
  • Upgraded infrastructure around South Tacoma Station

Additionally, in-person information is available at the following times and places:

  • Monday, Dec. 18, 3-6 p.m.: Visit our table at the STAR Center, 3873 S 66th St, Tacoma, WA.
  • Thursday, Jan. 4, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Visit our table at the South Tacoma Library, 3411 S 56th St, Tacoma, WA.

Sound Transit’s Sounder S Line train service gives Pierce County residents a dependable, traffic-free commute to and from Seattle and other destinations. The trip, with Wi-Fi, from South Tacoma Station to Seattle’s King Street Station takes about 70 minutes.
