Public forums to be held on COP's year eight review of Sound Move
The Citizen Oversight Panel (COP) appointed to monitor Sound Transit's performance announced that it will hold two roundtable forums to hear from the public about the first eight years of Sound Move.
While the implementation of some projects has been delayed, many others are completed and in operation, or under construction. Sound Transit has begun planning for the next phase of transit improvements. COP is interested to hear from the public views about how well Sound Transit has done so far and what lessons have been learned along the way. The Panel is preparing a Year 8 summary report on the progress in achieving Sound Move. The report will include lessons learned and recommendations that can be incorporated in Sound Transit's Phase 2 planning efforts.
Roundtable forums are scheduled as follows:
Edmonds Floral Center
Tuesday, March 1, 2005, 4 to 6 pm
Tukwila Community Center
Friday, March 4, 2005, 9:30 to 11:30 am
The forums will be informal, facilitated discussions about the elements of Sound Move and COP members will be there to listen to participants' views. For more information about the COP forums, contact COP staff person Kathy Elias at 206-325-1129 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Citizen Oversight Panel, an independent body comprised of 15 volunteer members from throughout the Sound Transit district, has been meeting since 1997.
COP Chair: Larry Shannon, (425) 746-6019
