People are invited to share their comments about proposed improvements and new routes for ST Express bus service for South King County at two upcoming open houses being hosted by Sound Transit. Sound Transit is proposing new limited-stop ST Express service in South King County to be implemented in Sept. 2001 and Sept. 2002.

Renton open house Thursday, Feb. 15 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Renton City Hall 1055 S. Grady Way
Auburn open house Wednesday, Feb. 28 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Auburn Library 1102 Auburn Way S.

Sound Transit representatives will be available to provide information and answer questions. Those attending will be asked for their comments on the following proposals: New Route 580 would either connect Tacoma Dome Station with the Auburn Sounder commuter rail station and Auburn Boeing plant via 1-5 and SR-18, or connect Tacoma Dome station via River Road and SR-167 with stops at the Auburn, Puyallup and Sumner commuter rail stations.

New Route 583 would connect the Bonney Lake Park-and-ride with the Sumner and Auburn commuter rail stations, and Auburn Boeing.

Routes 560 and 565 would be revised to stop at the new Renton Transit Center scheduled to open in Sept. 2001, instead of the South Renton Park-and-ride. North of downtown Renton, buses would use Park Ave. instead of Logan Ave.

More information about these proposals, with maps, is available on Sound Transit's Web site, www.soundtransit.org. You may also get information by calling Sound Transit and leaving your name and mailing address at 1-800-201-4900. A survey is available online at www.pacific-rim-resources.com/soundtransit/survey.html.

Comments will be accepted until March 20, 2001. Comments may be mailed to Sound Transit, 401 S. Jackson St., Seattle WA 98104, or e-mailed to expresscommunityrelations@soundtransit.or g
