Sound Transit - the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority - along with the City of Puyallup and Pierce Transit are inviting the public to an open house updating the latest information on Sounder commuter rail station in Puyallup.

Tuesday, May 18, 1999
7 to 8:30 p.m.

Puyallup Senior Center
212 W. Pioneer, Puyallup

People will be able to see the latest ideas for Puyallup's commuter rail station and meet with Sound Transit staff to share ideas and help ensure that the station will meet their needs and reflect their community's character.

Sounder commuter rail will begin two-way rush hour service between Tacoma and Seattle in late 1999, and extend service north to Everett and south to Lakewood by early 2001. It is part of Sound Move, the regional transit plan approved by voters in 1996 which also includes construction of Link light rail between SeaTac and Northgate and a 1.6 mile downtown Tacoma Link line, and Regional Express service that includes 20 new limited-stop regional bus routes and numerous improvements to transit centers, park-and-ride lots and high-occupancy vehicle lanes throughout the region.
