Publish Date

In collaboration with King County Public Health, Sound Transit is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to members of the public at Union Station on Friday, August 27. Everyone age 12 years and older is currently eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.

The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available at the clinic. These COVID-19 vaccines are authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and have been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials. They were developed, tested and authorized using the same rigorous process used for other successful vaccines.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single dose vaccine. The Moderna vaccine requires a second dose. Because no future vaccination clinics are planned to be held at Union Station, King County Public Health will provide those receiving the Moderna vaccine for the first time with options on where to receive a second dose.

Data show the COVID-19 vaccines are safe, and serious side effects are rare. Vaccination greatly reduces the chances of hospitalization or death from COVID-19.

Anyone interested in receiving the vaccine should come to Union Station, 401 S Jackson Street, south concourse (near the Union Station bike cage). During this time, the Joni Earl Great Hall will remain closed.
