Sound Transit announced today the release of a new Regional Accessibility Transit Guide. This guide is the first time accessible transit, paratransit and Medicaid transportation information for the three-county Central Puget Sound Region has been compiled in a single document.

"We are extremely proud of this guide," said Sound Transit Regional Express Director Agnes Govern. "This is one of the reasons why we are at the leading edge in providing special services and accessibility for those who are physically challenged. You can find information about accessible transportation connections throughout the three counties, how to ride and what to pay, and directions on how to transfer to and from fixed route buses, trains, and paratransit."

A partnership between Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Sound Transit's Citizen's Accessibility Advisory Committee developed the web-based document over a 16-month period. LunaWorks, Inc. of Seattle designed the Web site. The guide is geared to persons with disabilities, senior citizens and service agencies. It is available in text, graphics, and framed mode at the Web site enabling persons with accessible computers to also use it.

The Web version of the guide may be accessed at www.findaride.org Print versions may be obtained from your local transit or social service agency.
