Sound Transit to host open house on Sumner and Puyallup Sounder Station improvements
Public invited to provide input on possible future access improvements including parking, pedestrian, bicycle and bus facilities
Sound Transit will conduct two open houses next week to review potential options for improving transit rider access to the Sumner and Puyallup Sounder stations. The events will take place as follows:
Sumner City Hall
1104 Maple Street
Tuesday, Feb. 4
4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Puyallup High School
105 7th Street SW
Thursday, Feb. 6
4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
As part of the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure approved by voters in 2008, Sound Transit has been studying ways to improve commuter access to its Sounder stations. Potential station improvements that could be funded include more parking, enhanced connections for pedestrians and bicycle users, and bus access improvements.
The open houses will provide the public an opportunity to discuss and provide comment on potential access options. Additional open houses will be scheduled this spring, with options scheduled to be presented to the Sound Transit board this summer.
