The Community Link Office of Sound Transit - the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority - located in historic Columbia City at 4900 Rainier Avenue South, Suite 102, will now be open on Thursdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every first Friday from 7-10 p.m. The Friday evening hours are scheduled to coincide with the monthly Columbia City Beatwalk event. These new hours supplement the current office hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

"The Community Link office is proving to be a convenient location where the residents and workers in southeast Seattle can share their ideas on the design and environmental work on the Link light rail project, as well as receiving information on all Sound Transit projects," Seattle City Councilmember and Sound Transit Boardmember Richard McIver said.

The Link light rail line and stations planned for the Rainier Valley community are part of a 24-mile all-electric system that will connect the cities of Seattle, Tukwila and SeaTac with fast, reliable environmentally sound transportation. Also, a 1.6 mile Link light rail system will connect downtown Tacoma with the Tacoma Dome commuter station. The other two transportation systems of the Sound Move regional transportation system are Sounder commuter rail, running 81 miles from Everett to Tacoma/Lakewood; and Regional Express, a bus transit system that will connect the major metropolitan areas, cities and communities throughout the region with 20 new, fast, limited-stop bus routes.
